TARAGO

First visit to Halifax by TARAGO.  Much larger than all of the other car ships that arrive.  Tugs had to bring it up the passage backwards as it is too large to turn arround at the Auto Port.

Noticed something interesting on the top deck.  Looks like it is transporting a fancy Yatch.

The Race to Save the Cougar Ace

Here is a cool article I came across about one of the local ships that visit Halifax.  You can read the full article that goes with the video at http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/magazine/16-03/ff_seacowboys?currentPage=all.

Very interesting!!!

Rare Morning View

Woke up this morning to a rare sight this close.  VDQ "HMCS Ville De Quebec" parked just off shore waiting to head into the Esso refinery to fuel up.

Early this month. Don't have many pics this month.

OceanX Sanderling.  She seems to be coming in more often lately.

A few pics from last month.

Here are a few pics I missed last month.

Falstaff heading for the Auto Port.  Second time I seen her this year.

One of the ACL ships coming in through the fog.

Some even older photos I just came across.

Here is some photos of the Rowan Gorilla III being taken away on a heavy lift ship.

Here is a pic of HMCS Montreal doing trials with the new Cyclone helicopter just out from the Woodside ferry docks.

Getting behind in my posts

Here are some pics that I have taken over the past few weeks.

This is the Cougar Ace, she is the one that capsized off the coast of Alaska 2 years ago and they lost over 3800 cars that were on board.

Here is the US Coast Guard Ship Eagle, she was docked just out in front of the house for a day before they docked next to Murphy's Warf.  Me and the misses took a tour of it today, what a gorgeous ship and a lot bigger than it looked out in the harbor.

Here is one of the many Wally ships that come in.  This one is Bess, she usually shows up in the morning and is gone by supper.  I think it just picks up cars here.
